“One person with passion is better than forty people merely interested.” E.M Forster

Passion for today’s Digital Lifestyle

Passion with Violin on FireThe more I read and live with new digital media, the more I realize there are two distinct groups, those “that get it” and those “that don’t get it”.

For me, today the common thread I notice in the new conversation that we live, is that people “that get it” have passion for the positives in this new lifestyle opportunity and the new work style / network that it offers.

I believe in passion about life and living it, overflows into our passion in what business we do and how we do it.

You can understand a lot about a persons’s character and passion, from the inspirational quotes he chooses  e.g. this quote by Seth Godin

“Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, you ought to set up a life you don’t need to escape from.”

Here are some other quotes on marketing, advertising and social media, by people “who get it” and caught my eye:

“On the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.” David Ogilvy

“If you have more money than brains you should focus on outbound marketing. If you have more brains than money, you should focus on inbound marketing.” Guy Kawasaki

“The aim of marketing is to make selling superfluous.” Peter Drucker

“Don’t find customers for your products, find products for your customers.”  Seth Godin

“Social marketing eliminates the middlemen, providing brands the unique opportunity to have a direct relationship with their customers”. Bryan Weiner

“To objectively see what consumers see is not easy.” Tim Ambler

“I used to believe that a good product sold itself.” Phil KnightPassion - Stacked Stones

“Social Media is not just a set of new channels for marketing messages. It’s an opportunity for organizations to align with the marketplace and start delivering on behalf of customers.” Valeria Maltoni

“It’s much easier to double your business by doubling your conversion rate than by doubling your traffic.” Jeff Eisenberg

“Our success is a direct result of knowing how to market a brand and having the right people representing the brand” Greg Norman

“The pursuit of excellence is less profitable than the pursuit of bigness, but it can be more satisfying”. David Ogilvy

“Old-school marketers are used to one-way marketing communication and a sales approach that talks at the customer rather than with the customer. That just doesn’t work anymore”. Newt Barrett

“Social Media, it turns out, isn’t about aggregating audiences so you can yell at them about the junk you want to sell. Social Media, in fact, is a basic human need, revealed digitally online. We want to be connected, to make a difference, to matter, to be missed. We want to belong, and yes, we want to be led” Seth Godin

“Profit in business comes from repeat customers, customers that boast about your project or service, and that bring friends with them”. W. Edwards Deming

“We’re living at a time when attention is the new currency. Those who insert themselves into as many channels as possible look set to capture the most value”. Pete Cashmore
